The Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony and Dinner will be held on Monday, August 7 at MoMo’s Restaurant in San Francisco. The $150.00 per person event starts with a cocktail reception and wine tasting at 6:00 pm, followed by presentations and dinner at 7:00pm. The Hall of Fame Dinner is a fund-raiser for the GGRA Scholarship Foundation, with 100% of the proceeds going to scholarship awards for deserving Bay Area students pursuing an education in the hospitality industry. Twelve students were awarded this year, with scholarships totaling $31,000.

Pat Kuleto of Kuleto Restaurants will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given annually to an individual based upon their achievements in local restaurants. Pat has designed many great San Francisco restaurants and his company currently operates Farallon, Boulevard, Martini House and Jardinière, with two additional restaurants in the works on the Embarcadero.

Charles Phan of the Slanted Door will be honored with the American Dream Award. This award is given each year to an immigrant who has built success through their restaurant. Charles is a Vietnamese immigrant of Chinese descent and came to the United States when very young. He opened his first restaurant in the Mission District, which he closed when he moved to his current location in the San Francisco Ferry Building.

Gene Burns of KGO Radio has agreed to MC the event. The two largest scholarship foundation winners will also make brief presentations on what the awards mean to them.

Support a great cause while you eat and drink well. Details for the Hall of Fame Dinner are on the GGRA home page at www.ggra.org. You can also call 415.781.5348
